The Phillies won today. OOOOOOOHHHHHH Phillies win!!!! Phillies win...(Ok, maybe the John Sterling imitation - the Yankees blowhard announcer - doesn't translate real well to black and white.)
Here are some interesting tidbits:
-Someone woke up Ryan Howard today and he hit a grand slam. (Let's hope it's a good omen.)
-At the start of today's game, Pat Burrell was hit .077 on the road trip and had gone 2 for his last 26. He proceeded to go 0 for 2 today. So much for his fast start, huh?
-After being offensively inept for most of the road trip, the Phils scored 9 runs in the final 3 innings today. If you take away the final three innings today and the first four innings of the first game of the Giants series, the Phils only mustered 19 runs over the next 56 innings. Pretty pathetic, huh?
That's your 2007 Phils. Can you stand the excitement?
