The Phils pulled out another series taking 2 out of 3 from the Blue Jays. Today, the Phils won 5-3 on the strength of a homer by the suddenly resurgent Pat Burrell, this year's career minor leaguer surprise, Greg Dobbs, and the surprisingly effective pithcing of Adam Eaton. However, once again, Brett Myers showed that his move to closer isn't all that bad an idea. I love that we have a closer that can get more than three outs and doesn't scare you to death when he enters the game. Maybe this should be Myers' role for the rest of his career. Could it be the Phils finally lucked into something?
Anyhow, the Phils are now .500 and 7 games back of the Mets (this was written prior to their game with the Yanks on Sunday night). Next on the schedule are trips to Florida and Atlanta. This Phils have sucked in division and on the road this year so let's see if this turn around is for real or just a mirage.
Based on this group's prior history, I'm not expecting a whole lot, but I would love to be proved wrong.
