This city is cursed. There's no other way to put it. How many times does bizarre shit have to happen before everyone just accepts that the Sports Gods will not let us win. How else can you explain the bizarre timing of the announcement of Timonen's injury. We might be the first franchise in Sports history to lose a top player during a week layoff.
Christ, why couldn't this happen to Lasse Kukkonen or Randy Jones? No, it has to happen to our best effing player! That my friends, is how we roll. No matter how good things look, trouble is just around the corner. I've been pretty much beside myself. I really thought this team had a chance to win the Cup. Now, we'll be lucky to win a game against Pittsburgh. Yes, that's how much Timonen means to this team.
