All Star Game Tonight!

"This One Counts", huh? Seriously, does anyone give a sh*t? I don't. If there was anything else sports related on the tube tonight, I would be watching it. In fact, I went to a birthing class tonight and didn't bat an eye when I realized I would be missing the beginning of the game while learning about the joys of the child delivery process.

In any event, this game just shows that the front offices of the National League are as inept as those in the NBA's Eastern Conference. How can the talent gap between two leagues be this large, for so long. I don't see the National League closing the gap any time soon.

I'm still pretty shocked that some MLB genius came up with the idea to make it "count."

How can you possibly award the most important element in the World Series - the home field advantage - based on the winner of a meaningless mid-season exhibition game?

Seriously, it's time to end the All-Bore game and all of its stupid festivities (i.e., the HR derby). Go back to the way it used to be and give home field to the better team.

Seriously, none of the players give a crap about this stupid game and neither do the fans (hence the decision to make it "count").

I'm starting to think that I'm the only one that reads this blog on a daily basis.

Yup...I think you might be the last of the mohicans....We'll see how often I'm able to keep this up after the baby is born.

Keep the pictures of Matthew coming. He's getting big.

How's everything going on your end?

Matthew is doing well. Everything is great on our side.

Hope JK is doing well.

The other thing - don't let anybody get on you about the birthing classes. It gets the dads ready (more than the moms) for the stuff they are going to be subjected to during childbirth - including some sights that you would rather NOT see ever again!

How much longer until your baby comes along?

The baby is due 8/14, but we suspect she will go early as JK has gestational diabetes and the baby is getting pretty big.

umm....sorry to interrupt "baby chat", but I must interject on behalf of AMERICA'S PASTIME and it's All-Star game...while I agree that the "making it count" crap is unnecessary, it is still the only all-star game of the 4 majors that can be played as close to a true game as possible. Baseball, my friend, like America, is about tradition. It's about knowing that every night during the summer, you can tune in on the radio or tv and catch the boys of summer. It's about stirring up memories of Harry and Whitey calling every inning of every game, or so it seemed. Maybe you all just need to watch Field of DReams again. Or, better yet, maybe the spoiled, pampered, players need to watch it, then again half of them probably don't 1. even know who Shoeless Joe was, and 2. speak english!! But as for me, I still enjoy the Game!!
