Cue The Anxiety

I would like to personally thank the Cubs for throwing in the towel tonight and failing to put a major league lineup out on the field. Thanks guys. You brought a pitcher in the top of the 9th with a 6.50 ERA. You had no intention of helping out the Phils tonight. We'll see how Karma pays you back in the playoffs.

I guess we'll now have to sweat out the weekend with the Phils up a game and the Nats coming to town. The Mets have the Marlins coming in and let's hope we see a repeat of last year.

As for the Wild Card situation, at worst the Phils will go into the weekend 2 games up on Milwaukee. They face the Cubs, which isn't such a good thing since it appears they are now more concerned with getting their team set up for a postseason run instead of playing it straight.

On the bright side, this team over the past two years always seems to react well to situations like this. They seem to rise up and play well just when it looks like they are ready to implode. Lord, I can't tell you how bad I would like to see a 5 or 6 run 1st or 2nd inning tomorrow night. I don't think this weekend will be that easy though. It never is.

Mr Wizard, i count the Phils 1 up in the East and WildCard. We can win 2 of 3 and still end up in a one game playoff. These are the bad times.

Dormy w/ 2 to go. It would be nice to lock it down on Sat. to rest Cole for game 1.

Well the Phils did their part and the Mets are doing their normal nosedive. I think the anxiety is already over, which is not the usual thing around here :-p
