Offensive Super Genius To Join Birds Staff?

I came across this little tidbit from Paul Domowitch's column today:

Don't be shocked if Brian Billick, who was fired earlier this week as the Ravens' head coach, winds up as an offensive consultant on Andy Reid's staff. Billick and Reid are longtime friends.
Does anyone remember that Brian Billick was once considered an offensive genius back in 1998 when he coordinated the Vikings offense to the highest scoring season in NFL regular season history? Didn't think so. He went to the Ravens and won games with his defense while his offense was in a constant state of flux despite Billick's resume.

Sure, it will be nice to add a fresh set of eyes to the offense, but I really don't care which offensive coaches this team adds. Until they add a deep threat at WR and add a tight end to compliment Brent Celek, the Birds' offense isn't going to improve a whole lot.

I wonder if Billick is too much of a threat to Andy? He has a ring and many would say hes more qualified to coach this team than Big Red. Its one thing to bring in Mornigwheh (how the hell do you spell his name?) to run the offense as a former head coach but to bring in this guy, i'm not sure.

With all the terrible coaches in this league, i have to believe he has a job by March 1. His big fault down in Baltimore was never figuring out the QB position. He had that defense and tried to get back there one more time w/ McNair. They were 14-2 last year (or something ridiculous like that). This year the QB gets hurt and he loses his job.

From today's paper.

Unless, of course, the Eagles have overrated their personnel, and when has that ever happened?

"I think they've got some issues up front, and I don't know if they can fix them," a veteran personnel man who did not want to be identified said yesterday. "They gave up 49 sacks [fifth-worst in the league] with a guy who's supposed to be mobile at quarterback. . . . The reality is they've got to fix the offensive and defensive lines."

Our anonymous bird dog counts Trent Cole as the only impact player on either side of the line of scrimmage at the moment; finds Shawn Andrews, Mike Patterson and Brodrick Bunkley solid; and doesn't think much of any of the heirs apparent (Winston Justice, Max Jean-Gilles and Victor Abiarimi) at their respective O-line and D-line positions.

Here's the problem i have w/ this supposed scout. The same O-Line paved the way for Westbrook to gain a ton of yards. The sacks seemed to come from 2 places, blitz pick up mistakes and 5 holding the ball too long.

The D-Line played the run very well all season. More pressure would help.

Capt...I don't much stock in that guy either. The sacks were more the result of D Mac's hesitancy early in the year than the o line.
