Super Blah

So far, I am standing strong on my decision to boycott Sunday's game to decide the Championship of the National Football League. I simply cannot find any reason to watch this game other than seeing how unoriginal the commercials have become and maybe seeing history made by the Pats. Plus, I still can't wrap my head around the fact that Eli Manning is in the Super Bowl. I never thought I'd see the day.

If the Giants win, the league will be set back decades. Ok, maybe I'm overexaggerating and being a tad bit spiteful, but over the years, the NFL Champion has typically been a team that dominated at some point during the regular season. The G Men surely do not fit that description. Did they impress you at any point this season? Sure, they racked up a ton of sacks against our Birds early in the season, but that was with our backup left tackle in the game and looking like a turnstile. They are like a NHL team that wins the Cup after getting into the playoffs as a 5 seed and then rides a hot goalie. They just don't the fit the bill as a Super Bowl Champion. Instead, they seem more like the 1998 Falcons that somehow backed their way into the Super Bowl and then summarily got thumped by the Broncos. I'm hoping we see a similar result Sunday.

The week leading up to the Super Bowl has also been greatly disappointing. About the only interesting things that occurred this week were the marriage proposal Tom Brady received from "Inez" and how Osi Umenyiora likes to be pooped on by hookers. I also got a kick out of this creative Giant fan who is trying to ensure that Randy Moss can't play Sunday as he would be in violation of a restraining order since he gave Super Bowl tickets to the chick that filed assaulted charges against Randy. Hopefully, something will occur to save this game, like the Eugene Robinson arrest the night before the game for solicitation of a prostitute or the Barrett Robbins nervous breakdown the night before the game.

In any event, if anyone has any reason to get excited about this game, please forward it on. I'd love to hear it.

Maybe Osi was inspired by R. Kelly. Or Dave Chappelle.
