I love the Phanatic just as much as the next guy, but his new red costume is absolutely ridiculous and must be set on fire immediately so he never wears it again. Did the Phillies consult anyone on this? Seriously, who thought this was a good idea? Someone in the marketing department deserves to be fired.
Phanatic, please just stick with the green costume from here on out. You're bound to scare little kids or get shot by a gang banger for wearing Compton Blood colors.

What the hell is that? It reminds of that "thing" they used to have in Montreal. If it ain't broke why are they trying to fix it??

I had thought that this was to be used in connection with the "Paint the Town Red" promotion and that once that ended He/she/it would go back to its regular color. PSP, please investigate and clear up this issue as it is important to all.
FYI, the following come from wikipedia:
One week before the Phillies had their 2006 opener, the Phanatic was "dyed" red as part of the team's week-long promotion to "Paint The Town Red" as he was "dipped into a special paint" made by a team sponsor - MAB Paints - and was changed from green to red. He returned to his regular color in time for the season opener on April 3 of that year. This was repeated for the 2007 season, as he became red at a Philadelphia Fire Department station (with help from his backup, Matt Monro in the green outfit) to help raise funds for smoke alarms in Philadelphia with the opener scheduled for April 2nd.
Thus, we can all breath a sigh of relief as the Phanatic will start the season in his/her/its' tradishional green. Now if Ryan Howard can find his swing all will be right with the world.
BTW PSP I hate having to conduct your investigations, so next time check your facts prior to posting.
It is a he. The backup is also a he. The Phanatic's wife works for my company in another division. That's pretty funny that is was on Wikipedia.
That was a close one.

He could be purple for all I care. Why all the fuss?
