I Guess This Explains A Few Things

I suppose we now know why interest has been cool in Donte Stallworth thus far in free agency.

For those who have not heard, the Inquirer reports that Donte is in Stage One of the NFL's Substance Abuse Policy. I guess he has a bit of a drug problem.

Comcast Sports Net reports that Stallworth planning to visit the Pats and Titans and willing to take a one year deal to prove himself. I can't see either one working out. The Pats just traded for Wes Welker and are considering trading for Randy Moss. Does it really make sense to sign a guy who likes to dabble in drugs and put him on the team with Pac Man Jones? Poor Donte will be headed to rehab in the matter of weeks.

Come on, Banner and Heckert. Let's get this done and move on with our lives. How much more can this guy's value decline. He's a steal right now.
NFL.com is reporting that Stallworth will decide between the Pats and Birds and he is expected to choose in the near future. I guess we'll see how valid this one is.

Pony up for this guy! How 'bout a "fair" 2 year deal that fits well within the birds cap, with a contingency in there if he has another issue with the substance abuse program.

I was just watching Action News. I think Jamie Apody just stole your artice.

She reported that Stallworth may not be an Eagle because he is visiting with the Pats, even though they just picked up Wes Welker. She also reported to that everyone just found out he is part of the substance abuse program. It just sounded like I was reading your article again. Pretty weird.
