Dead Man Walking

After another miserable defeat to the Mets, does anyone have a prediction for when Uncle Cholly gets canned? My guess is 5/10. This team needs a different voice. It's time for Cholly to get put out to pasture.

I'm not saying this mess is all Cholly's fault, as much of the blame can be placed at Gillick's feet, but this team was once again not ready to play at the beginning of the season. I know Cholly harped on this team about coming out strong, but clearly his rants fell on deaf ears.

However, at least Uncle Cholly showed some fire tonight. He apparently challenged Howard Eskin to a fight during the post game press conference. Gotta love the misplaced anger, huh? How about throwing a hay maker at Ryan Madson or Pat Burrell. Those guys are hurting the team a hell of a lot more than the media.

Good estimate. I'm going to say April 30th.

5/1...however, dude, Pat the Bat is hardly to blame this time...though he still looks like he has no clue at the plate, and will hurt you from time to time in the outfield....he was hitting around .350 going into last night...not that I am endorsing him, but a haymaker at Chase or Howard may be more appropriate...and at Gillick too!!

I was at the ball park last nite and although I was cold and drunk this is what i saw.

1st Pat the Bat hit the ball hard in the 1st w/ the bases loaded and 2 strikes. He smashed one right at the 2nd baseman and I was pleased he stayed back w/ 2 strikes and tried to drive the ball to the right side.

Utley and Howard left a small army out there last nite. How a team has 8 hits 7 walks and a couple hit batsman and only scores once is a joke. The leadoff hitter is doing his job, but 2-4 are killing them and 6-8 have given us nothing. I left b4 we got to the pen, we'll i was there, but disengaged from baseball.

More importantly, I completed the ballpark CheeseSteak challenge. What's that, on Ashburn Alley, eat one from Tony Luke's then one from Rick's, then belch and fart. Without researching, who can tell the story of Rick's Steaks for the Reading Terminal and now the ballpark?

Wow Capt, I was wondering where you've been...sounds like fun last night.

I know one of the steak places is run by a relative of Geno's...Is it Rick's?

As for my bashing of Burrell....I have to admit, I was picking a convenient target. I caught basically nothing of last night's game except I saw Rowand's hard single to left in the 6th.

I agree that Utley and Howard aren't keeping up their end of the bargain. I wonder if all the media attention softened them.

I've been here utterly disappointed in the direction of this blog. YOU SIR, have let the 3 of us who read this blog down over the past 4 days.

Correct, Rick's and Geno's are somehow connected thru family, but I was told there are some "branding" issues (both use a king's crown) in their logos. i was told the lawyers are involved. I'm not sure if its a cordial relationship at this time, but at the Park, the Rick's establishment, talks about the relationship between the two.

I think i liked the Rick's steak a bit better than Tony luke's in the event you're scoring at home. Interestingly, Rick's uses Amoroso bread while Tony L uses Liscio's. I'm a big Liscio guy as they have locations in Twp and G-Boro. Now that's in depth Chesse Steak review, you don't get this anywhere else....

I think i just heard Cholly announced Brett Myers is going to the bullpen, shoot me now. If that's the case, he's shot.

Uncle Charlie couldn't even spit out the words right when he was threatening Eskin. You can't be mad at him for taking the job, though. The Phillies are the ones who hired him. He may hurt the team a little, but he isn't the one leaving 97 men on base every game.

And how do you guys like your LHP out of the bullpen this year? Cormier's ERA in Cincinnati is 0.00.

Let's be fair, Frency has only recorded 5 outs thus far.

George, your fascination with Rheal Cormier is starting to concern me. I think I am going to report you to the appropriate authorities.

I love the Capt.'s qoute - "You sir, have let the three of us who read this blog down."

Sarcasm at its best! Icouldn't have said better my self.
