The Real Culprit

It is quite clear that what Pat Gillick has done in constructing this team the past offseason is down right criminal. Sure it's easy to pick on Uncle Cholly, but he's only working with the slop Gillick gave him.

I think it's pretty evident that Gillick compiled a team that is pretty much post season ready except for one spot. THE F'N BULLPEN! (Oh yeah, let's not forget the mental midget playing in left field.)

How could he so egregiously overlook such an important spot as the bullpen??? Instead of overspending for 5th starter Adam Eaton, wouldn't it have made more sense to split his $8 million salary between two quality free agent relievers?

Christ, this is maddening. Two outstanding starting pitching efforts have gone for naught as the bullpen is flat out terrible.

Gillick is now reminding me of Clarkie. Everyone knew the Flyers during the Lindros era were championship caliber at every position except between pipes. However, Clarkie never wavered in his desire to bring in retread after retread to play goalie for the Orange & Black. Hopefully, Gillick doesn't wait as long as Clarkie did before correcting a glaring hole.

I think a nice movie quote for this one should be from Office Space (Peter Gibbons to the "Bobs"):

"Good luck with the firings. I hope that goes well for you....."

(something like that)

George - when are you going to get off of the Cormier thing? Your Frenchy boyfriend is long gone. Get over it - you sound like a clingy, needy girl who can't get over a boyfriend.

By the way, why didn't we hear you singing Cormier's praises while he was here in Philly? Could it be because he is nothing but a 40-year-old batting practice pitcher?

JG, we need calm now. you're not gonna leave. they'll kill you but you'e not gonna leave.

There's 160 more of these, so lets not get crazy just yet. I've seen enough of Rowand and his .260 ass, i say move him for some pen help. Put one of the kids in right (Bourne or Dobbs) both seem to have good bat speed. Hide Shane in Center so I don't have to bad mouth his overmatched ass. Its one thing when your right fielder can't hit, but its another when he plays a good defensive CF.

Now, The LF hasn't bothced a ball or left half the army on the bags as the MVP has. Additionally, no one will take Pat, so let's pray he doesn't suck the life out of this team.

The Catchers already in 2 games have given us more than Lieby did last April, so i'm ok there.

I'm gonna give this squad 20 games (its equivalent to 2 Birds games) before I go nuts and i suggest you all do the same. Let's see where we sit on May 1. I understand you cannot make the playoffs in April, but you damn well can lose the playoffs in April, but this rotation won't let that happen. Eventually, we'll break out offensively.

NOW< do you realize this 3/4 switch w/ Utley and Howard have cost us 2 games out of two. in the opener Utley hit a double off of Howards foot and last nite RH gets thrown out at the plate. Only 160 more of these to go......

Nice aquisition! Some RHP joker who was 1-2 with a 6.65 ERA and spent 8 years in the minors. Let's not break the bank!
