You Stay Classy, Pat The Bat

After going yard off Dice K yesterday, I was starting to wonder if Pat "The Bat" Burrell was starting to turn things around. Maybe he'd show a new attitude this year. Then I caught wind of this picture.

I'm happy to see that even with a new season upon us, Pat is still a prick. On the bright side, at least he's not flipping of a phan and Lord knows, we'd all like to give Tito Francona the Finger.
(By the way, Deadspin reports this Bird is in response to some good natured ribbing from former manager, Tito Francona.)

dude, who knows, maybe.....just MAYBE, Popup Pat is starting to wake up again....maybe he's getting that fire back, you know the one he had when he played for Bowa, before he got paid and actually cared how he/they did. If he isn't the biggest enigma in Phillies history I don't know who is...is it possible to root for someone to do well as much as this city has rooted for this clown, then boo him when he pops up or takes another called third strike, and then 8 batters later....root for him again? God I can't stand it much longer!! That said, I'm psyched for the Opener and his phlipping of the bird was to Francona in a joking manner of some sort...I guess he forgot he was in a stadium full of 39k...just imagine..."Daddy why did that guy just give the other guy the finger??" Dad says..."who him? who cares, he sucks anyway!!"

Yeah, Francona yelled across and asked Pat if he wanted the ball (as if it was his first big league long fly....) Pat had a big smile on his face and atleast for one moment had a personality. Kinda like Sammy Davis personality.

I think Pat hits 40 this year. Talk about an optimist.
