Screw off Sister In Law Banger! No One Saves More Than Bernie!

I realize that only three people will read this article, but I have a real problem with the hockey gods tonight.

This evening, Martin Brodeur of the Devils tied former Flyer, Bernie Parent's record for most wins in a single season. In my mind, Brodeur is not deserving of the record.

First of all, Bernie accumulated 47 wins in a 78 game season which did not have overtime games that were all played to a decisive conclusion. Second and most importantly, Bernie is a much better person that Mar-tan BRO-door. As far as I know, Bernie did not bang the shit out of his brother in law's wife, but that scumbag Brodeur did. Here's a nice little summary of his actions:
Melanie Brodeur alleged that her husband committed adultery "on numerous occasions at a variety of locations." She alleges the adultery has been "ongoing and continuous for a period from the fall of 2002 to present date." The two had been separated before the filing for divorce. Melanie Brodeur alleges that her husband committed adultery with his sister-in-law. His involvement with the village are now done, but the park center is still named after him. Their divorce was completed in 2003.
All I can say to Mr. Brodeur is enjoy the good times now. You've been awarded greatly over the last decade with Stanley Cups, Olympic Gold Medals, Vezina Trophies and other various individual records, but sooner or later, the karma police will catch up with you. If this was an episode of My Name Is Earl, Brodeur would lose all his money and end up with a bad case of the crabs.

In any event, Bernie will always be considered the best goalie of all time to me and many other Flyers phans. Ok, I'll get off my high horse and get on with my life.

I see you are back on the karma train. When will you appreaciate that a lot of people get away with doing crappy stuff for their entire lives without any payback from the karma police. I cite for example, virtually every US president that didn't get shot or caught; the CEO's of every Fortune 500 company; my high school principle; my brother; and my wife. Thus, your premise is flawed. Marty will be just fine in all likelihood and if he's not it will have nothing to do with the fact he should have been born in West Virgina.

Seriously, there should be an asterisk next to the Broduer win number. Call it the "modern era" record or something like baseball does. A goalie should not be credited with a Win in a shootout.

You sound like a little jealous of someone who has owned your team for the last 12 years. Yes the Flyers did beat the Devils in 1 playoff series but you loved Orange and Black also BLEW a 3-1 lead in a series with the deciding game in your home rink.

Brodeur deserves all the accolades that he gets and if Bernie was not a one hit show what was his Career win totals from the big Broad Street Bully days?
608 Games
271 Wins
54 Shutouts
2.55 GPA

Ohh Yes the Eye injury did end his Career but come on you had Hex coming too town by then.
Brodeur
891 Games 283 more games playes
494 Wins 223 more wins
92 Shutouts 38 more
2.20 GPA
.913 Save Percentage

Be pissed all you want and bring up the nature of his personal life to your opinion, I guess you had a few Flyers that were just perfect roll models all around.

Just understand this is as simple as anyone can say, It's 2007, The Orange and Black are not in the playoffs and have not won the stanley cup since 74-75. You just passed your 40th anniversary and are heading strong too your 50th!

That is the truth...and Brodeur the in-law banging Goalie just got the Most wins in a season, 3 Stanley cups & I will be way dead if they never won one again by 50 years. But Atleast I got too see them do it and enjoy it!

Only thing you have is the shoot outs wins, that's it!
But is not like he was not knocking on the door before Shutouts:
97 - 43 Wins 70 Games
99 - 43 Wins 72 Games
00 - 42 Wins 72 Games
02 - 41 Wins 73 Games

Parent
73 - 47 Wins 73 Games
74 - 44 Wins 68 Games

Brodeur is the best, will be remember as the best and that is the plain simple truth.

Brodeur fan, thanks for your thoughts and stopping by the site. Are you Aran's buddy?

You make some decent points (especially the part about him knocking on the door in previous years). You get bonus points for the effort, but you did give me a good laugh though. "Roll model" is that slang for a plus size model? I understood what you meant though.

I also disagree about Brodeur being the best goalie ever. Right now, I say he's still behind Patrick Roy, but if he captures another cup, I think he nabs the title.

Anyhow, you have to at least admit the guy is a scum bag. If he cheats on his wife so what...that happens all the time. However, did he have to do it w/ his sister in law? That is the thing I can't comprehend.

BTW, Hexy's rookie year was 86-87...you are forgetting the Pelle era, as well as the Pete Peeters/Phil Myre eras, which all came after Bernie, but prior to Hexy.

In any event, what can Flyers phans say? The Devils have consistenly whupped our ass since Brodeur came along. It is frustrating to see a team, which receives so little fan support, have so much success. Teams like the Flyers and Rangers have die hard fans, yet our teams have had no where near the level of success of the Devils.

One last thing...how in the world are you guys going to fill this new arena? You couldn't fill an arena right off the NJTPK, but you are going to get your fans to travel into the hood to watch them? I don't see this working out.
