Today is a very sad day for all Eagles phans. Andre Waters is dead at the age of 44. Reports indicate that this was a suicide. What a tragic loss.
Even though he may have grown up in Florida and moved out of the area, we lost one of our own today. He was one of the few guys that have played for our Birds that truly embodied the spirit of this town. He was the Birds' answer to Lenny Dykstra and Bobby Clarke. You know.... the scrappy, hard working guy that would overcome his talent deficiencies to do ANYTHING to win a game.
I know I will remember him as a self made player that turned himself into a fearsome safety that laid the wood to anyone who dared come across his part of the secondary.
Rest in Peace, Andre. Rest in Peace.
